FIRST FRIDAY SHORTS OCTOBER 2011

I missed all the beginning filler shorts because I was very late, but in time for the first entry.  Overall the shorts were surprisingly very good which made for decent viewing for my very critical friend, Tina Huerta, who is a local producer of indie films.  She attended to do research on a secret project that we are doing together.

Especially clever comments by Mike Sterner this month and Max was in great form.  There was that great feeling of a wild slumber party in the theater.

FIRST FRIDAY SHORTS SEPT 2011

I arrived at 9:05pm. I was afraid the place would be packed because there were only a few spaces left in the parking lot and many were parked on the street.  I was surprised to find the the theater only 2/3 full.  The audience had a strangely polite vibe and I wondered if anyone would gong anything.  (See FFS rules here.

When I got settled, I saw a filler short which was a parody on a classic drive-in ad but then starts to go horribly wrong for the concession characters.  Brilliant! Haven'...

AUGUST 2011 FIRST FRIDAY SHORTS (FFS)

At the August Edition of the FFS, I decided to sit in the front row instead of the back so I could sit with the artists, Diana Stapleton and Joke Harmonica.   Michael Sterner was unfortunately not in attendance, but the show still went on magnificently with Max Cannon hosting alone.

JULY 2011 FIRST FRIDAY SHORTS (FFS)

Sorry to be getting this review out so late, but then again I found more of the shorts online.

It was a gonging kind of audience this time.  For a refresher of the rules of this event, go here.  Being a summer holiday weekend and horribly hot, I was surprised the theater was as full as it was; approximately 2/3 to ¾ full.  I flagrantly schm...
